Welcome to Blue Quails Deli
We, Peter & Glenda Botes look forward to the opportunity of welcoming you to Blue Quails Deli.
Our little cafe/deli, is located at 7 Bridge Street in Bath (BA2 4AS). We are open 7 days a week. Our opening hours are Monday to Saturday 8.30am to 5.30pm and Sunday 8.30am - 4.00pm. We do not take bookings, just pop in.
We opened Blue Quails Deli in September 2012. Leaving South Africa in the late 90's, and coming from many years in the hospitality business, we bought a small but very busy country house hotel in Somerset, which we ran for 6 happy years. When we decided to finally retire in 2012, Bath was the place we chose. Our retirement project was to open a small deli to keep us busy, with more sociable hours than the hotel business.
We're often asked how the name Blue Quails fits into the scheme? Previously in the Cape - we had a lovely restaurant called the African Blue Quail - so it seemed like a great idea to continue along with the trend. The African Blue Quail is prolific in the Cape - being small and being a delectable treat, we felt it just fitted in perfectly with our small shop. We hope you'll agree that our international street food, frittattas, quiches, delectable soups and delicious home baked cakes will make your visit to Blue Quails worth it! Don't forget, we also serve LaVazza Coffee, a big selection of delicious infused teas, and they say 'the best hot chocolate' in Bath!!
Since opening Blue Quails Deli, we've been very fortunate in winning a couple of great awards
- Best Cafe 2015 - Bath Good Food Awards
- Best Cafe 2014 - Bath Good Food Awards
- Best Deli 2013 in the South West - Taste of the West
- Best Deli/Cafe 2013 - Bath Good Food Awards
- Best Sandwich 2013 - Bath Life Awards
- Finalist Best Cafe 2013 - Bath Life Awards
We've been hovering between Top15 on Trip Advisor (out of 352 cafe's & restaurants) over the past year, which we feel is quite an achievement, we thank our clients for their great comments. We value your opinion, but if when you visit you're not 100% happy, please do tell us!
However, it's not about the awards, we love what we do, we enjoy you all popping in, it's all about keeping innovative dishes appearing, using fresh local produce, giving good service in a friendly and clean environment.
We are VERY small, but tables move along quickly, so please do pop in and try one of the many daily specials.
We hope you'll drop in and introduce yourself - we look forward to meeting you.
